The Prophet said: “The stipulations most entitled to be abided by are those with which you are giv –
en the right to enjoy the (women’s) private parts (i.e. the stipulations of the marriage contract).”

One day the Prophet went out and offered the (funeral) prayer for the people (i.e. martyrs) of
Uhud as he used to offer a funeral prayer for any dead person, and then (after returning) he ascen –
ded the pulpit and said, “I am your predecessor before you, and I am a witness upon you, and I am
looking at my Tank just now, and I have been given the keys of the treasures of the world (or the
keys of the world). By Allah, I am not afraid that you will worship others besides Allah after me, but I
am afraid that you will compete with each other for (the pleasures of) this world.”

I offered the ‘Asr prayer behind the Prophet at Medina. When he had finished the prayer with
Taslim, he got up hurriedly and went out by crossing the rows of the people to one of the dwellings
of his wives. The people got scared at his speed . The Prophet came back and found the people sur –
prised at his haste and said to them, “I remembered a piece of gold Lying in my house and I did not
like it to divert my attention from Allah’s worship, so I have ordered it to be distributed (in charity).”
