Volume 5 Book 58 Hadith 238

Volume 5, Book 58, Number 238:
Narrated ‘Umar:
I heard the Prophet saying, “The reward of deeds depends on the intentions, so whoever emigrated
for the worldly benefits or to marry a woman, his emigration was for that for which he emigrated,
but whoever emigrated for the Sake of Allah and His Apostle, his emigration is for Allah and His
Apostle.”

Volume 4 Book 52 Hadith 153

Volume 4, Book 52, Number 153:
Narrated ‘Umar:
The properties of Bani An-Nadir which Allah had transferred to His Apostle as Fai Booty were not
gained by the Muslims with their horses and camels. The properties therefore, belonged especially to
Allah’s Apostle who used to give his family their yearly expenditure and spend what remained there –
of on arms and horses to be used in Allah’s Cause.

Volume 3 Book 43 Hadith 642

Volume 3, Book 43, Number 642:
Narrated ‘Umar:
When Allah took away the soul of His Prophet at his death, the Ansar assembled In the shed of
Bani Sa’ida. I said to Abu Bakr, “Let us go.” So, we come to them (i.e. to Ansar) at the shed of Bani

Volume 3, Book 39, Number 530:
Narrated ‘Umar:
While the Prophet was in Al-‘Aqiq he said, “Someone (meaning Gabriel) came to me from my Lord
tonight (in my dream) and said, ‘Offer the prayer in this blessed valley and say (I intend to perform)
Umra along with Hajj (together).’ “
