[2648] 122 – (1127) It was narrated that 'Abdur-Rahmân bin YazId said: "A]-Ash'ath bin Qais entered upon 'Abdullâh when he was eating his lunch. He said: '0 Abü Muhammad, come and eat.' He said: 'Isn't today 'Aârâ'?' He said: 'p0 you know what the day of 'Athi2râ' is?' He said: 'What is it?' He said: 'It is a day that the Messenger of Allah used to fast before (fasting during) the month of Ramadân was enjoined. When the month of Ramadân was enjoined, it was abandoned." Abü Kuraib said: "He abandoned it."
