[3670] 14 – ( … ) Abü Az-Zubair narrated that he heard 'Abdur- Rahmân bin Ayman, the freed slave of 'Azzah, asking Ibn 'Umar, and Abü Az-Zubair heard that: "What do you think of a man who divorces his wife when she is menstruating?" He said: "Ibn 'Umar divorced his wife while she was menstruating, at the time of the Messenger of Allah ." 'Umar asked the Messenger of Allah (about it), saying: "Abdullâh bin 'Umar has divorced his wife when she is menstruating.' The Prophet said to him: 'Let him take her back.' So he took her back. And he said: 'When she becomes pure, let him divorce her or let him keep her." Ibn 'Umar said: "And the Prophet recited the words: 0 Prophet! When you divorce women, divorce them at their 'Iddah (prescribed periods)…"[']
