Sahih Muslim Hadith 3958 – Leasing Out Land

[3958] 121 – (..) It was narrated [rA] from Tawüs that he used to rent out (Yukhâbir) his land. 'Amr said: : "I said to him: '0 Abfl 'Abdur- Rahmân, why don't you stop this J renting, for they are saying that the Prophet jW, forbade renting out land?' He said: '0 'Amr, the most knowledgeable of them of that' – meaning Ibn 'Abbâs – 'told :JU me that the Prophet did not L forbid it, rather he said: For one of you to lend his land to his brother is better for him than renting it out for a specified :JL amount."
