Sahih Muslim Hadith 3681 – Giving One’s Wife

[3681] 22 – (1475) 'Aishah said: (Vo)— [rM] "When the Messenger of Allah j ':•-' was commanded to give his :JU Jj Iii- :U2J wives the choice, he started with – me. He said: 'I am going to tell you something, and you must not hasten to decide until you consult your parents.' He knew that my parents would never tell me to leave him. Then he said: 'Allah LLS [the Mighty and Sublime] says: 0 Prophet! Say to your wives: "If you desire the life of this world, 4 and its glitter, then come! I will make a provision for you and set 3 LU > you free in a handsome manner :Jt .(Ll L (divorce). But if you desire Allah and His Messenger, and the Home of the Hereafter, then verily, Allah has prepared for Al- Muhsinât (good-doers) amongst you an enormous reward."'['] She said: I told him: 'Why would I need to consult my parents about this? For surely I desire Allah and His Messenger and the Home of the Hereafter.' Then the wives of the Messenger of Allah all did the same as I had done."
