Sahih Muslim Hadith 2470 – The ifhawârzj Are

[2470] 159 – (1068) It was narrated that Yusair bin 'Amr said: "I asked Sahl bin Hunaif: 'Did you hear the Prophet mention the Khawârzj?' He said: 'I heard him' – and he gestured towards the east – (say:) 'People who recite the Qur'ân on their lips, but it will not go past their collarbones. They will pass out of the religion as an arrow passes out of the prey."
