Sahih Muslim Hadith 1906 – The Clarification

[19061 274 – (821) It was narrated from Ubayy bin Ka'b that the Prophet Olt was at the pond of Banü Ghifâr and Jibrll – peace be upon him – came to him and said: "Allah commands you to teach the Qur'ân to your Ummah according to one mode of recitation." He said: "I ask Allah for His pardon and forgiveness, my Ummah is not able for that." Then he came to him a second time and said: "Allah commands you to teach the Qur'ân to your Ummah according to two modes of recitation." He said: "I ask Allah for His pardon and forgiveness, my Ummah is not able for that." Then he came to him a third – ___,0 "-t time and said: "Allah commands JL : JU !>. you to teach the Qur'ân to your J Uj '4 jL*a Ummah according to three L9 -oj modes of recitation." He said: "I ask Allah for His pardon and 3 :JUi forgiveness, my Ummah is not able for that." He came to him a fourth time and said: "Allah thi JL1t :JU commands you to teach the Qur'ân to your Ummah according L to seven modes of recitation, and 3 ! i :JUi L whichever mode of recitation they recite it in, they will be right."
