[2637] 113 (1125) It was (')-r [rrv] narrated that 'Aiah [may Allah be pleased with her] said: "The Quraish used to fast on 'Ashârâ' during the Jâhiliyyah, and the Messenger of Allah used to * _0 fast on (that day) too. When he emigrated to Al-Madinah, he fasted this day and ordered that U this fast be observed. When (fasting during) the month of Ramaçlân was enjoined, he said: 'Whoever wishes may fast it (this :jti 3L day) and whoever wishes may forsake it."
