[277] 158 – (96) It was narrated ()-OA [''vv] that Usâmah bin Zaid – and this is the HadIth of Ibn AbI Shaibah :Zt7;I – said: "The Messenger of Allah sent us on a campaign, and in the morning we attacked Al- Huruqât of Juhainah. I caught up with a man and he said: 'La ilâha illallâh,' but I stabbed him. Then I felt troubled by that, and I told the Prophet about it. The Messenger of Allah said: 'Did he say La ilâha illallâh and you killed him?' I said: '0 Messenger of Allah, he only said it for fear of the weapon.' He said: 'Did you open his heart to find out whether he said it (out of fear) or not?' And he kept repeating it until I wished that I had become Muslim on that day." Sa'd said: "By Allah, I will not kill a Muslim until the one with the belly – meaning Usâmah – approves of killing him." A man said: "Doesn't Allah say: "And fight them until there is no more Fitnah and the religion will all be for Allâh 1 Sa'd said: "We fought them so that there would be no Fitnah but you and your companions want to fight them so that there will be Fitnah."
